Colleen Atwood: My Hero

February 27, 2011

So this isn't an outfit post, but it has a lot of designs in it. This post is to express my proudness with Colleen Atwood. If you are unaware who she is, She just won her third oscar for costume design. Her movies include: Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a gesha and Chicago. I've been in plays and recitals since I was very young, and one of my favorite things about performing. Not the Rush of  hyperness I'd receive waiting behind th curtain. Not the Smirk that would take over my face when I hit the stage and knew exactly what I was doing, but the costumes we wore. How we could be anything we wanted to be just by pulling on a tutu, or a backless leotard.
When I was able to change shoes it was the biggest thing ever. Ballet Slippers no longer, I slid my rather large toes into my brand new pair of Pointe Shoes in 8th grade. One of the best days of my life. My entire Dance Career. So whenever the Academy Awards come on, I am always glued to the Category for Costume Design. I can totally understand why Colleen won her 3rd oscar tonight. Her costumes are timeless and gorgeous. She totally deserved the win.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the Academy Awards.

If I could be the 70's

February 25, 2011

So, here it is guys! My very first outfit post! I am so excited, because I think this might be one of my best outfits yet! I was really weary about changing the url of my blog. One because I cannot transfer over my entries, and let me tell you that was a  lot of work. I've only been online for like 3 days. I was worried that this was going to be a monumental failure.
I was reading other blogs and they all basically started their blogs after having amazing success with Lookbook or Chictopia. I have both of them. Chictopia, I've got so so success with it, but my lookbook is a monumental failure. It just seems that its a tougher crowd to be honest. So imagine my SURPRISE when I log on to find my very first follower! Without any coaxing and promotion! So thank you so much Dina-Bella for making this the best day EVER!
 Now onto the actual post.
I had an interview with the HR manager of Kohl's for their open, Beauty associate position. I was super excited about this! Until, I began the journey to the store. It's in a WHOLE 'NOTHER CITY!!! So not only is it way way way way way past where I felt like going in the first place and there's no bus going that way! So I wouldn't be able to work. I really need to get on the ball with this driving situation. I also went to Steak N Shake to finally grab my paper work and my orientation is @ 9 am tomorrow. Much Too early if you ask me...Why do we even need to be up that early? We also have to be in full Uni! White oxford, black slacks, and slip resistant shoes. I got my apron, name tag( Where my name is miniscully small) and Bow Tie...Gotta love the 50's right? But I can't complain. A job is a Job is a Job. I'm working all week, and hopefully money will begin to come in again. I certainly do miss it haha.
My outfit had a total vintage 70's feel to it, I felt like I leaped out of one of my parents polaroids.

Hype my looks on lookbook and chictopia !

My Fashion Icons: Emma Watson

Emma Watson's third collection for People Tree has released a lookbook, full of designs that will be in the spring collection. I Looked through them...I was not impressed. Don't get me wrong, its not like the designs were ugly. They just didn't jump out at me like I expected them too. I mean this is EMMA WATSON. She is a style Icon.
The photos above, were the only two that popped out and was like "You know you have to have me." I love the simplicity of it. I've always been a sucker for anything that was monochromatic with a vintage feel. I think these dresses fit the bill. Can't wait to get my hands on them. If you wanna see the entire lookbook, feel free to visit this site.

Welcome! I'm Gabriella. I've moved here from tumblr and Wordpress. Hopefully I wont have to move again. I plan on staying here for a long time. If you would like to see previous posts you can visit this blog.
I am used to blogging. However, it will be difficult for me to keep it narrowed down to fashion makeup and d.I.y. but I think I shall manage. I am hoping to keep it on a decent schedule. Expect a OOTD and FOTD to be uploaded sometime tomorrow, because I have an interview and I have to look Chic. lol.

IF you guys wanna learn anything about me, keep reading on or leave me a comment. I love to talk!
