Handheld Mistress #23: I Magical Dropped Zombies and Darkstalker'ed Your Tush!

April 30, 2014

The other day, a few techs from my job decided to convince myself and Alex to head out (on my off day) to Arcade Legacy for games food and just a fun time. We got there about 5 ish, 2 hours later then everyone else, and everything was pretty much in full swing. They had a call of Duty tourney (I avoided that completely) and decided to look around, of course, it was Thursday, so it was CHOCK FULL of Arcade Fighters for fight night. I played their Popeye game, I didn't get very far but it was fun! Transferred over to DDR, but had a shooting pain in my foot and had to take a break. From there I moved on to House of the Dead 2 with Alex, which we finished! I'm so glad that all the games are free play, because I can only imagine what percentage of a small fortune we spent trying to defeat that game! Then I moved on to my all time favorite game of all time ( My ultimate weakness) Magical Drop 3, I've written about this game on HHM before.
Well I'm writing about it again, because I beat Battle mode. I only had to battle the boss twice before I won. 12 rounds later, I saw the completion screen, and the credits! On one end I was excited that I could put another game under my belt, and on the other, I was so sad to see a section of a game go bye. Granted there is still Survival and Magical Journey to be played, but it's not like Magical Drop IV suddenly appeared, I don't want to have the heart wrenching feeling the end of Mystery Incorporated brought me. So after my gloating, a slight pain in my arm and photos, I was challenged to DarkStalkers by Daryl the Tech, He won the first one, and then I won the last two. Best two out of three, (apparently he likes to hold grudges) I met a whole bunch of people with street pass, I'm almost at 30!

Outfit of the Day: Double the Sun

April 29, 2014

Just as I promised OUTFIT POSTS!  I found a "for the meantime" camera, in my mothers camera bag, so prepare for the end of CELLPHONE PHOTOS!!!! YAY! I was working two jobs, but I quit one a couple of days ago. At the moment I am stress free, and it's given me some semblence of free time, and I have decided that I was going to get out more. This Ohio weather is wonderful for the time being, and I thought I would make the absolute most of it. So not only do I have a fashion post for you in the first time this year, but I have TWO! I decided to get my roommate all dressed up for my day off, and we'd go out, get into some trouble and take pictures while doing it. Instead we ended up on campus with my cousin and her roomie, and got up to all types of photostalking. It was an awesome time! We got a tour of campus, got to be goofy in front of people (Which is never a bad thing, ever) ride lions, elegantly block steps for poor passerbys, and playing the piano for those students who haven't left their dorms yet. Later on that night, I went out with a few friends from work and Alex (Le Boyfriend*) and decided to wear the strapless minidress I scored from  Rue 21 earlier in the week. We literally spent the rest of the night at Arcade Legacy  We got there about 5:30 and stayed until about 11:30. In that time, I played like 8 games, finished two AND won a 2 out of 3 match against a tech from work (Apparently, he's a grudge keeper) All in all a super fun night, and Alex is finally getting the hang of taking photos of me for the blog. (BWAHAHA I have a free photographer for LIFE!!! I can't WAIT TO EXPLOIT THE MESS OUT OF THIS OPPORTUNITY!) Ahem, I mean, I can't believe I found someone willing to take picture of me whenever I ask, whenever I ask, he is so so sweet.

Stay Nerdy,
Til Next time,

* Alex has given permission to be featured on the blog, so he will be Alex from now on, and Le Boyfriend will no longer be a used title *

May Movies or Take My Money

April 23, 2014

Hey Gang! May is on its way. You know what it's bringing with it? Awesome NEW MOVIE TRAILERS that's what. I'm looking forward to a bunch of things happening this may, but this post is about movies, and I'm looking towards three of them. Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and The Amazing Spider-man 2. 2014, is an absolutely amazing year for Marvel Movies. Captain America: Winter Soldier (Which had me tear up, I'm with you to the end of the line as well, Marvel, as long as your movies continue to be amazing and tug on my heart strings, every time on the time.) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ( I can NOT be the only one whose lady parts practically explode at the sight of Young Harry Osbourne right? Right?...) X-Men: Days of Future Past, which I've only been waiting on for forever. I really enjoyed First Class, and I've been waiting semi-impatiently for the new one, and now that there are a whole bunch of trailers out and they look amazing... (EXCEPT for Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch's costumes. I need them to at least resemble the originals, or at least, lend a a nod towards the X-Men: Evolution costumes, I know and love. Something, anything, like from what I've seen, I can't even fangirl over Quick Silver properly, but will that stop me from going to see it, HELL NAW...) Maleficent ( I honestly can't even put it into words how excited I am for this movie, Maleficient is my favorite Villainess of all time, even though she's really not even a bad guy. I am so excited to see her Forest Army, Like I think that might be my favorite part! I'll be spending so much money in May guys! SO MUCH MONEY, pretty sure that my wallet just ran for the hills.

Hail Hydra and Kiss the Cap!

April 21, 2014

Last Weekend, Le boyfriend and I went to go see Captain America: Winter Soldier. It soared past the expectations I had for the film and then decimated my feels. The movie was bloody amazing! I loved all of the twists and turns, I loved the psuedo romance between Steve and Natasha, I loved that they literally linked up every Marvel movie in existence, and I absolutely adored that Hydra was still in existence and had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. Flawlessly. As an Xmen fan, I always hated Shield for how they treated Logan and other completely undeserving mutants, but alas, that is feels meant for another post. The action in this movie was extremely fast paced, and it literally kept me perched on the edge of my seat, I jumped several times, to the people sitting behind me's dismay, and all in all I REALLY REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE.
One of the coolest things to come out of this movies release, would be the Marvel Meme, Hail Hydra that has literally just popped up everywhere, prepare yourself,  your childhood will be ruined, along with your favorite movies, but it's all in good fun, I am definitely a rooter for the good side, but I am a huge fan of this meme, just because I am a super weirdo. Despite, the less than stellar weather, I decided to wear my brand new minidress from Body Central, with thrifted tights and some booties I got from Burlington Coat Factory!

 Until Next Time,
Stay Nerdy Gang,

Handheld Mistress #22: Becoming a Pokemon Master

April 17, 2014

So I am not a practical joker. Not even a little bit, Half of the time, I forget about April Fool's Day. It just isn't a holiday that pops up on my radar often. That last April fools day joke I remember is when I saw that episode of Batman: The animated Adventures, when Alfred says he drew Bruce a bath, and it's on a sheet of paper, and that was like ages ago! Jokes these days have gotten pretty bloody sophisticated. Google Maps decided to pull on my heart strings, and put out this video, calling for all capable peoples to open Google maps on their smart phone, click the Pokeball and start catching them all, if you happened to catch all 150 Pokemon littered through the world, then the last four standing will battle for the "actual Google position" of Pokemon Master. This prank was pretty impressive, and I was extremely depressed about the fact that it didn't actually exist. I was catching Pokemon until Alex Came home and then we watched Scooby Doo for the rest of the night, But I thought it would be cool to show off the Pokemon I did manage to capture, because despite how absolutely amazing this prank was, people aren't really talking about it like I thought they would so I decided that I would do the Honor, because Dude, Google! Google, was joking and gave us the opportunity to capture Pokemon in towns that we can actually visit! ~ Imagine what they could do if they were really trying? I didn't actually catch all 150, which weren't the originals but a mix between all Pokemon generations. It was a great ploy on Game Freaks behalf, because all it really made me wanna do, was play Pokemon X on my 3DS, One for subliminal messaging, Zero for little ole me.

Until Next Time,

Sew Nerdy! #1

April 16, 2014

The summer is almost upon us, and with that comes more free time then usual. I have decided to spend mine re-learning how to sew. To give me a good push of motivation in the right direction, i stopped by jo-ann fabrics, who was having a sale on their printed character fabrics, 30% off! I got a little happy and purchased 2 yards each of  5 different fabrics costing me about $60 all together... So until I actually force myself to work with the 3 shelf cabinet that is currently full of fabric i wont be picking anything else up. I figured that i would make a little "tutorial" series out of my sewing experiences this summer, in case there were others like me who wanted to try something different. Heres the fabric i bought and the machines I'll be working with during this series. A singer machine from the 80's and a janome machine i bought two years ago that I hadn't used since, so ill be re stringing and all that good jazz and be showing you guys how to do it as well! I think i'll bring my youtube back to life with this little project, because my camera should be here shortly. (C'mon! Tax return) I picked up: Keroppi, Disney villians, Star Trek, Batman and Marvel comic covers, I cant wait to start this series guys!!! So if you like sewing, nerdy things, d.i.y.s and learning something new, this is definitely the series for you!

Until next time,
Stay Nerdy,

Handheld Mistress #21:New PS3 GAMES

April 10, 2014

My boyfriend and I have just purchased a new television, and as we are the super nerdy couple that we are, a new television definitely calls for 2 things. New Video Games and New Movies. We stopped by Gamestop on his side of town, to see if we could find a cheaper alternative to the OUTRAGEOUS game controller prices we discovered at Best Buy. Unfortunately, every company seems to be sipping on the Kool-Aid because we couldn't find anything at an affordable price, except this God Awful wireless controller that was the color of pepto Bismol, with trees in the back ground, Alex informed me that it was pink Camo. (Why In THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT A PINK CAMO CONTROLLER? THAT'S ANOTHER POST ENTIRELY) Why is every controller for the PS3 we found 54.99 and Up? I nearly had a heart attack when I saw those price tags at Best Buy.
While in Game Stop, hoping for cheaper controllers (Fail) Alex and I picked up a few games, I feel like an adult gamer, every single game I picked up was rated M and this time, they didn't card me! Aw Shucks. I told Alex, I wasn't going to spend more than 40, and I was 8 bucks away!!! I didn't realize until I was already in line that They had started Selling Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, but seeing as I'm still finishing Diabolical Box, I feel like I can wait for the price to come down a bit. So Instead I got 4 new (to me) PS3 games. Assassins Creed, Fairytale Fights, Borderlands and Dead or Alive 5. Alex picked up Mortal Kombat V. DC Universe. I don't know if  you guys have read VSS before, but 3 of these games are NOT like the others. I'm wanting to expand my gaming experience, I've never been a big fan of games like these because of the camera system honestly, but I feel like as a gamer, it's holding me back from enjoying some really amazing games, so I have decided to take the plunge.  As Alex said, while dragging me towards the door (You really are a gamer, This is the last shelf, can we go now?) Ain't My Yoshi 3DS Pouch Hella Cute? I keep all my 3DS things in there, the system, the games, the charger and the stylus and I can drop it in my purse on the go. I LOVE IT! While I was in Game Stop, Dev from Kentucky visited me! I love streetpass, I can't imagine how amazing it would be to live in a big city like Tokyo or New York, and have my 3DS, It would probably crash with all the players I would get visits from.

Game on Sugars,
Until Next Time,
